Driving on a suspended or revoked license is a serious crime in Missouri. Regardless of whether or not it is charged under state law or municipal ordinance, a guilty plea carries 12 points. We often see clients who have pled guilty to this charge without an attorney, then their license gets suspended when the 12 points are imposed and then they have no choice but to drive and get additional driving while suspended charges. The fact is that there are many circumstances surrounding the reason a person’s license is suspended, when it was suspended and what needs to be done to get the license reinstated which an attorney can explain in his negotiations with a prosecutor.
